King has a Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude in Bible and Theology from Lee University with a 4.0 institutional GPA, and an Associate of Arts Degree with an emphasis in Science from Coastline Community College. He has a total of at least 220 units of education from universities, seminaries or colleges. This includes at least 130 units of Bible and theology related classes from Lee University, Calvary Chapel Bible College, and Chafer Theological Seminary.

The author misses the point...

The author does a critique of someone's personal event and misses completely. It appears as though he takes exception to another author's life experience because it offends him on a religious level so he does a rebuttal? How do you tell someone that they didn't experience what they did experience? The whole thing seems convoluted. I'd skip this book, read Dr. Alexander's book, and make your own judgement.

Both books should have different titles

Dr. Alexander merely wrote what he experienced. What else is he supposed to do? And since when are Christians in the strange position of calling this sort of thing a creation of the mind? Doesn't this put our own beliefs in the same light? Dr. Alexander wrote an honest account with the best of intentions of what he experienced. Such a thing does not need a rebuttal. Maybe this other book should be called something else. Maybe it could be called a comparison and contrast. I read Dr. Alexanders' book and I am a very orthodox and devout, knowledgeable and well read Christian. I did not have a problem with it. At all. Spiritual experiences are just that. They are not the Word of God but they are also to be respected especially if they changed someone's life for the better and brought them to God. That's the proof right there of their authenticity in at least a general sense.
Perhaps rebuttal is
just the wrong word. Just like for Alexanders' book perhaps "proof" is the wrong word.

Misses the Point

The author completely misses the point. First he talks about NDEs as delusions and something the mind has created. However, one of the main topics in Dr. Alexander's book is the fact that his neocortex was not functioning at all due to the E. Coli Meningitis. That was the main argument against the theory that his mind was merely playing tricks on him.
