A little disappointing

I was a bit disappointed in this book, for me it lacked character development and I found myself really disliking Lauren. For a supposedly sophisticated and independent young woman she just came across as being a little childish. I mean how many people dump someone (for whatever reason) and expect to just rock up to a school reunion and wham bam it's just like it was a10 years ago. Same same but different. Then she acts like the wounded party when it turns out that there is a woman very much in the picture. The only thing we know about this woman is from the beginning of the first book apparently his mother doesn't like her as much as Lauren that seems to be enough background before a bookshelf is dropped and everyone hates her. You just get a vague sense of her being a bit a witch. 2 things I have a problem with here- firstly Jake was so depressed after his breakup with Lauren 10 years earlier that he was bed ridden for days (as a Mum I wouldn't want this woman anywhere near my son again in case she did the same thing again I certainly welcome her with open arms) secondly where was Lauren for 10 years? Pinning for Jake? Apparently not, she was building a career and dating other people moving forward, nothing wrong with that, but it just makes the whole Jake/Lauren renewed relationship just that much more unbelievable. They could have contacted each other at anytime over the proceeding years but chose not too, they don't sound like soul mates to me. Admittedly Vivienne did turn out to be a bit of a villain (just really stupid if you ask me) but because of the lack of character development i just found it really 'dog in the mangerish ' to boohoo because she was on the scene when you were nowhere around . I liked the characters of Joshua and Sarah much better. My other gripe is that I was expecting a bit of dominant/submissive hot sex but putting on a blindfold and being taken from behind does not equate to being submissive to the billionaire. Sorry just found it a little lacking but not the worst I've read.

I supposed you read the five book boxed set, and you have to read both book 1 and this one.. it is fantastic. well written and you will love the story to the very end.... would like to have one more book written about Ethan and Cruella devil Vivienne... but after reading these 2 books be sure to order Beautiful sky 1 and 2 to finish the whole series... I am so glad I found Ashley Blake..... its everything you want out of a good love story with twists you dont' see coming and keeps you wondering what is going to happen.. you cannot put it down till you read the last word.... I am telling you It is that good... if you have to get up in the morning, don't start the first book till you are off the next day as you cannot put down the first book and will pick up the second immediately and read to the end.... you can't stop till its all read.... guarantee it..... good job Ashley Blake.. I will read all of your books for sure..... thanks for keeping me up till 4 am,, it was worth it lol.

This is a great book it gives a all around conclusion to all of the characters to both series. I was very impressed with how the author stayed true to what he wrote in the other series about how these characters felt and continued it on. This is about Jake still being in love with his college sweetheart and finally getting a second chance one that he is not willing to loose with his ex who claims to be pregnant with his child. I will not give away the ending it is just great to see it all come together for a heart filled ending.
