John O'Connell worked for several years at the London listings magazine Time Out. He now writes, mostly about books, for The Times, The Guardian, New Statesman and The National. He is the author of I Told You I Was Ill: Adventures in Hypochondria (Short Books, 2005), The Midlife Manual (2010) and The Baskerville Legacy (2011). He is 37 and lives with his family in south London.

Not bad.

I love to write and receive hand written letters. It was great to read that someone else does too! I wish he would have included letter from the likes of Tolkien and Lewis who wrote volumes of letters, but I'm sure anyone who reads it will wish certain authors were included. You can read this in one sitting. More importantly, will it inspire you to write letters? Maybe.
